Who We Are

Wintergreen Resources is an American company that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Exiro Minerals based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Wintergreen Resources allows us to do business in the USA but doesn’t have an office or staff other than the Exiro team in Canada. To date, the Exiro team has generated 35 exploration projects, is known for its discovery success, and has been recognized for operating at the highest industry standards, in partnership with local communities.

We currently have a lease on the Warren Deposit located east of Crawford Pond in the township of Warren, Maine.

Shastri Ramnath, BSc, MSc, MBA, P.Geo

President & CEO, Director, Founding Shareholder

Ms. Shastri Ramnath is the founding President and CEO of Exiro Minerals Corp and is a significant shareholder and director. She is a Professional Geoscientist and award-winning business leader and entrepreneur with 25 years of global experience within the exploration and mining industry. Before co-founding Exiro, Shastri spent eight years at FNX Mining where she was a core member of the exploration and resource team that discovered the Victoria and Morrison Nickel Copper Deposits. She subsequently was the President and CEO of TSX listed Bridgeport Ventures where she raised over $17 million in the capital markets. In 2012 she co-founded and still currently co-owns Orix Geoscience Inc., a consulting firm that partners with exploration and mining companies to provide front-end geological support.

Shastri is known for the entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and determination that underpin her exceptional leadership abilities. She leads Exiro through her unconventional thinking and her ability to market herself and the team.

Shastri received a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Manitoba, an M.Sc. in Exploration Geology from Rhodes University (South Africa), and an Executive MBA from Athabasca University.


Valerie Pascale, BA (Honours)

Community Engagement Advisor, Shareholder

Ms. Valerie Pascale has been working in Community Engagement and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the mineral exploration and mining industry for 15 years. She is the Founder and Owner of Modern Core, a company focused on Sustainability and ESG support to exploration and junior mining companies.  Before this, Valerie was the Manager of CSR at Goldcorp (now Newmont) for over 10 years. Earlier in her career, she worked with NGOs, Indigenous organizations, community groups, and governments on a variety of community development projects and programs. Valerie has also worked with the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada over the last 13 years, on the CSR Committee, as the chair of the Diversity and Inclusion working group and as a Board Member.

Valerie is known for her community-centered approach to socio-economic development. She is passionate about human rights, partnerships and managing the impacts of mineral development on local communities. She challenges the mining industry to think innovatively and develop strong and responsible processes and practices.

Valerie has developed strategies, policies and guidelines for mining and mineral exploration companies to help them carry out activities and operations responsibly and sustainably in the areas where they operate.  She also focuses on building trusting partnerships with local stakeholders to maximize the local benefits of mining and to achieve effective, sustainable community development. 

Valerie’s key areas of expertise include human rights, stakeholder and community engagement, community investment programs, supply chain management, grievance mechanisms, and diversity and inclusion and she is a graduate of International Development Studies. 


David King, BSc, MSc., P.Geo

Senior Consulting Geologist, Shareholder

Mr. David King is a registered professional geologist with more than 25 years of professional experience, focused on mining exploration, development and production. He has extensive experience in the exploration for nickel-copper and gold and precious metal deposits and is currently consulting for a few successful junior exploration companies.

During his career, David has been involved in several significant exploration discoveries and successful mining development projects. He also has been in roles of leadership and has extensive knowledge in both exploration and production environments.

David most recently served as Vice President, Exploration and Geoscience for TMAC Resources Inc., for 8 years, prior to the company being sold to Agnico Eagle in early 2021. Before joining TMAC, he was the Senior Manager, Geoscience and Mineral Resources of KGHM International Ltd. He started his career with Noranda Inc. in 1996 as a Project Geologist on various exploration projects throughout North and South America.

David received a Bachelor of Science, Geology and a Master of Science, Geology from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.


Ian Trinder, BSc, MSc, P.Geo.

Senior Consulting Geologist, Shareholder of Willeson Metals (Subsidiary of Exiro)

Mr. Ian Trinder is a registered professional geologist with more than 35 years of professional experience, focused on mineral exploration and consulting. He has extensive experience in the exploration for base metal and gold deposits and is Vice President Exploration for private junior mineral explorer Willeson Metals Corp., a spin-out of Exiro Minerals.

Ian is known for his hands-on approach to mineral exploration leadership and field management applying current best-practices and exploration methods. He is well versed in engaging in best practices and building relationships with local communities.

Ian has worked with junior exploration and mining companies and mineral exploration consultants, including BP Selco, Sherritt Gordon Mines, TVI Pacific, Dumont Nickel, Derry Michener Booth & Wahl, A.C.A. Howe International, and, most recently, CSA Global Consultants Canada. He has extensive field exploration and project management experience in boreal, desert, and tropical terrains and extensive experience in compilation, integration and interpretation of exploration datasets and the authoring of NI 43-101 technical reports.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Science in Geology from Western University (London Ontario), and Professional Geoscientist (P. Geo.) status in the Provinces of Ontario and Manitoba. He is also a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and the Society of Economic Geologists.


Mr. Fred Beck

Consulting Geologist (based Yarmouth, Maine)

Mr. Fred Beck lives in North Yarmouth, Maine, and is the founder of Maine Environmental Laboratory and President of F. M. Beck, Inc., a geologic consulting firm located in Yarmouth, Maine. Fred has over 60 years’ experience as an exploration geologist working for major mining companies and landowners through the United States and Canada. His background includes mineral exploration, mining, environmental geophysics, geochemistry, analytical testing and marine surveying. Most notably, he led the team that discovered the Mt. Chase Cu-Zn deposit in Maine, which is now called Pickett Mountain and is being explored by Wolfden Resources Corporation.

Fred started his career in 1955 working as a field geologist for Pan American Petroleum Corporation. He worked for Kerr McGee Industries in the Western USA between 1959 and 1965. He worked for the government of Maine in 1966 as a geologist for the Maine Geological Survey and then the Director of the Maine-New Hampshire Bi-State Commission on Oceanography in 1967. He worked in the USA for Callahan Mining Corporation between 1968 and 1978, ultimately as Vice President in charge of all U. S. and Canadian exploration related activities. In 1978, Fred incorporated his geological consulting firm, F.M. Beck Inc. In 1979, he founded the Northeast Geochemical and Assay Company, which was the only commercial lab of its kind east of Denver. This became the Maine Environmental Laboratory, which continues to operate in North Yarmouth today with 10 employees.

Mr. Beck received his BSc and MA degrees in geology from the University of Wyoming and is currently a certified Maine Geologist (#019), a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists and the Geological Society of America.
